Context:
Me, Front-end Developer, Javascript stuff
---

Junior Dev: Hey xxzer0, could you help me with this? I spent the entire day on it and at this point, I think I just broke Chrome.

xxzer0: *---* Okay, let me see.

Junior Dev: Do you see it? I am updating the Javascript code but it's not working at all. The browser is not even loading it... Literally, the code I just wrote is not there.

**
Now be me, be the fucking idiot I was and I have been my whole life, I already knew what was going on because I lost a fucking day on it as this guy.
**

xxzer0: Well, let me see just one thing...

'Open Chrome Dev Tools' -> 'Network' -> 'Disable Cache'.

xxzer0: Now try again...

Junior Dev: What are you..doi........ IT'S WORKING! O.O

Chrome, I love you but sometimes I wish you could make this more "accessible" to newcomers.

@frogstair This guy didn't even know Cache was a thing, I didn't want to overwhelm him with shortcuts. But yes, you are absolutely right.

You know what else should be more accessible? Your colleagues, when you have a simple issue that takes 2 seconds to resolve, before you spend a day on it as the noob you are

@ptrn My colleagues panic as soon as someone relies on them. In the office, they call me "The Smiling Boy" because apparently, I am the only one who welcomes them with a benevolent look at any question or request

I honestly wonder how the no-cache checkbox could be made more accessible.
It is right where it belongs and doesn't confuse non-devs.
It also does exactly what you would expect.
It isn't badly placed or named. It just happens, that there are tons of other tools too. So some grouping had to be done. The Network tab is the natural choice though.

Whoever made that dev tools UI, actually did a great job.

@Oktokolo For "accessible" I meant to somehow document/highlight this "behavior",
I wish it could be more obvious,
I don't know how to explain it with better words.

You are a first-time dev, trying to make your code works and it doesn't appear at all on the page and you don't know why.

Yes, you should know the browser uses caching but what if you don't?

    Nothing else, really :D
It's a tricky detail for newcomers.

Indeed, it is well-positioned and I agree with everything you said.

"accessible" was the first word which came to my mind at the time of writing.
