You can (and should) state your opinion but don't expect much. From my experience, most business owners are fools with no vision.

I see salary jobs as “press keys to win money”. I can suggest and implement extra things if I want to increase my status though.

Hazarth95014yMention it to your manager/lead but don't dwell on it.
If It's a good suggestion it might be included, but you need to come with reasons why your change is better (value) and how long will it take (cost)
If It's a net gain a your manager might talk to the customer (if there is any), suggest it and it might be included then....
If It's a technical improvement do the same but with your tech lead... If It's a net gain he might approve.
It's good to engage with your team, but don't force it -
imaji1104yDepends on your company POV towards a "creative employee". Some company give rewards for your creativity and brilliant ideas, but most of them thinks that it's just some sort of loyalty and you will do it for free.
For me, I'll just stick to my job descriptions even if it's horribly boring, and stay creative on my own projects (or to a freelance project that pay higher when I'm being more creative).
Money rulez, that's how current world works, right? 😂 -
@imaji So, currently I can't do any freelancing or open source work due to company policy.
