If what I'm trying to learn is visual, video tutorials are useful. When it comes to programming, it sometimes wastes my time. Watching a 5-minute video to accomplish one simple thing? I could never get that time back! You can spend half of the duration of the video introducing yourself but I am already frustrated. I prefer documentation and hands-on most of the time. Just sharing my thoughts. Thanks.

    True.
But also sometimes you want to see things working..
It gives you a notion of success/accomplishment if you follow the tutor.

I don't prefer video tuts if familiar (sense of intution) with the thing that I am learning.

same here, I'd rather read the official docs, and some text tutorials

Sometimes videos are nice. Especially if you can run them at 2x, those guys get payed by the minute it seems..
