"Don’t you miss doing creative stuff, as an engineer? Don’t you miss the creativity of the art world? You can say: I’m working on an infinite canvas capable of any size and shape, that’s already glowing every color possible into the eyes of just about everyone on the planet. And I get to decide the kind of experience, feeling, and emotion they are going to have. How is that not creative?" - Natalya Shelburne

    I’ve seen many apps where the engineers have unleashed their creativity across the entire code base. Creativity is overrated.

    For a functional thing, that gets shit done, creativity is redundant for 95% of the system. The important thing is efficiency, not creativity.

    @iiii actually no.

    This is true when you are working as consultant and you have X hours to deliver Y project.

    If you want to build something people are actually like using and willing to pay for, the UI/UX, interactions and simplicity are WAY more important than functionality.

    @NoToJavaScript and how is creativity is accounted in simplicity and interactions? Those are all analytical parameters that require little to no creativity, but knowledge and data.
