@Eklavya That's not really true. Facebook uses a mix of Hack, HHVM, Haskell, Python, C++, Java, and Erlang.

And neither Mediawiki nor Yahoo has been significantly changed in the last decade.

A lot of hate against (especially modern) PHP is unfounded — but just like with JS and Python, the flexibility and low entry threshold do lead to some insane crap.

Regardless of whether Symfony or Laravel are great frameworks, if you look at their sourcecode, they're very well programmed. But if you look at a popular library like Guzzle, it's fucking unreadable trash under the hood.

So it highly depends on the maintainer & contributors.
