When the so called "css expert" ask you why you're implementing so many things in @media all and (max-width: 800px) because it "doesn't change anything"

I had to teach him about responsive web design and chrome developer tools mobile emulation...

    lol. the design team at my job told me the site is responsive. looking at the code it serves up different content and templates based on a user-agent list to determine 'mobile' UX. I asked what makes it responsive and was told "it looks good on desktop and mobile, that makes it responsive".
    :/ I spent spare time at work that week (like 6-7 hours) creating a responsive symfony site and got the same questions about @media. I was told the the head of the design team "professional Web developers separate the UX for more control and a cleaner feel." ...boss liked my mockup and we are redoing all 28 websites to be responsive. (design team doesn't like me now)
