My boss ask me to work from 5pm to 11pm at a Sunday. He said I can take a half day off tomorrow from 9am to 12pm :)

5pm - 11pm : 6hours
9pm - 12pm : 3 hours

I would demand a full compensation day off because it's Sunday - or else tell him to do the work himself on a Sunday.

Overtime should normally be paid at least 1.5x your normal rate, ideally 2x. So if you worked six hours on a weekend, you should get a day and a half off during the week (if it's just hours for hours and no extra pay involved).

Hope you're paid at least triple wage on Sunday. Otherwise, what's the point?

I hate this 12am/12pm confusion. Why is 11am + 1h = 12pm and not 12am and vice versa.

Asking implies that there is a choice. I’m just curious if such a choice was given here.

12 a.m. and 12 p.m. can both mean either midnight or noon, or be avoided depending on convention.

Make him send you an email. Say no. Document it or future use.
