Vscode is not really a text editor, more like a light weight IDE and fir large code bases it offers a lot of functionality vim does not.

I would never use vscode for exiting a single file ;)

It's a mixed bag.

For some things I like it, but only in the proprietary version (SSH bindings) but most of the time it's meh.

I don't understand the hype.
