Fucking hell. Falling asleep is literally the hardest thing I can imagine. And I have to do it every fucking day

    It might be the caffeine. Try to stay clean for some days once in a while. You might get mild headaches, but it may still be worth it...

    @Oktokolo Yeah, it's possibile and it's kinda difficult to stay without caffeine for a while...

    @Agamo
    It should be pretty simple to stay clean for a weekend. Headaches normally come at day two - but should not be too hard to endure...

    Just don't try to code on that days.

    @Oktokolo I’m a zombie when my brain finds out its not getting the caffeine it needs to work so I second that “don’t code yet” idea. I’ve written some pretty horrific garbage in that mode

    if it’s caffeine, avoid it after 4pm helps.

    if it’s stress or too much thinking, a little alcohol might help.

    if it’s the feeling of falling asleep awaking you .. i feel you.

    Yeah, caffeine is already out since a couple of weeks. Alcohol too, it makes me anxious and depressed the next day. Or a week if I go hard. The only thing that doesn't make me loose my shit is weed but the country I live in is a total dick about it. I just wish the covid bullshit ends soon. Getting first jab in two weeks 💪

    Get some exercise, 2 hours cycling always work for me

    Sleep isn't a thing to be controlled.
    Merely influenced.
    Best is to practice beneficial techniques, methods and well, lifestyles.
    Certainly reducing 'boosting' habits and substances. As most of them don't work for but with you, in the end.

    @Oktokolo
    Headaches from not drinking stuff?
    I'd rather go into a month of cold turkey
    than to be dependent on a substance or anything ="D

    Two hours? That's some strong 'go to sleep' routine

    Well, caffeine really works well in motivating the brain to work over hours (which definitely isn't what it evolved to do, but happens to be what our working culture dictates).
    It also improves mood and readyness.

    Its benefit/drawback ratio is pretty decent compared to hardcore drugs like nicotine or alkohol.
    Most can take it their entire adult life and never need to detox. But if they do, it literally just takes some days with and there is no lasting damage (except perhaps having to change profession because mental productivity and motivation will return back to natural levels).

    To me it is the easyest thing, if I lay down and slow down for a few minutes, I just fall asleep.

    Maybe we should merge and become one normal person.
