I'm sick of companies putting 1.1GHz CPUs and 4GB of RAM in a laptop, Windows takes up all of the processing power and nothing is left for programs

Just what is Windows even doing with all that?

Probably making that hardware obsolete by design to make the consumer buy a new 'microsoft approved laptop'.

Nobody forces you to go along though... Grab a USB stick and dd that sweet Linux iso installer to it, and get rid of that sorry excuse of an operating system.

PS. Gigahertz isn't a great indicator of processor performance. It means pretty much nothing on its own without other metrics like IPC (instructions per clock), and even then it's a very slipper comparison.

Eg. If I have a 1 GHz processor capable of running a program with IPC around 3 and a 2 GHz processor running the same program at IPC of around 1 then the "slower" 1GHz processor is executing 3 billion instructions per second while the "faster" 2GHz processor is doing 2 billion instructions per second.

Why on earth would you buy anything with those dire specs these days? You can get over twice the performance with just a tad more money. Cheap laptops are a huge false economy.

    Ya.. I don't get it.
It's like android. My old phone with 1gb ram and android 4 runner better then my phone with android 9 and 4 GB ram...
    Well... It's all about business...

Why aren't you sick of them putting windows on such lappies? Those specs are still possibly ok for casual use.

Na. Windows 10 uses like 3 GB ram after install...
You open 5 chrome tabs and your out of ram

As everyone else mentioned, you should meet our Lord and Savior, Linux.

The only bloat is what you choose to add. No spying, either, unlike Windows XP+ (and especially 10).
