CTO hired mid-level full-stack developer for really complex product we’re building.

Here’s the funny part - he has 2 YEO building on top of freelance dev. code base’s on wordpress… Just fucking yesterday he told me, that Angular 10 framework is simillar to Jquery. Fucking dipshit, his code is so fucking bad it looks like italian sausage made out of spaghetti.

Not sure if I hate him more than ours truly cheapest CTO or him for being ridiculously incompetent and arrogant young asshole.

I’m in charge of him.
Help me.

Reject his PRs until he learns

Be direct and open to him at least he will learn

I mean he's not totally wrong. Jq and Ng are both trash.

@DevLivesMatter why would you say something so controversial, yet so brave?

    "mid-level"

    :O

@nibor Yeah, I was super duper friendly with him at first, but I found out the hard way, that the young asshole needs a strong breath behind his back to respect his superior. Sucks really. I never wanted to be that guy…

On another note, I make homemade memes for every PR he makes, so if it looks like a genocide, it’s the one with a bunch of laughs along the way.

Oh yeah, and his two 20min tickets are not approved for almost 2 weeks now.

@DevLivesMatter They totally are, but we are using NGX as per “Angular 10”.

On top what others said, write down his fuckups day by day. When shit will hit the fan, and CTO will blame you for delayed/broken delivery, then you would be thankful for having such diary.

Keep track of the mistakes for sure..

But beyond that I agree that his prs is where you’ll make or break him.

Make him practically rewrite everything that doesnt follow established patterns, is bad practice..

Being picky isn’t bad.. even criticize naming of functions and variables.. hell either become better or be pist off enough to leave on his own.
