Freelancing is modern slavery...

Al this greedy fuckers searching for the cheapest tool for their super urgent project.
Even if you write you consider the payment on the expenditure you fucking snail will still debate on it cause you consider your time more valuable. You consider my life isn't worth your money. You want a service but don't want to pay for it.

This get all for fucking free mentality is what ruins this planet.

where corporations are concerned i'd definitely agree.

large corps hoard resources collectively and the consumer class disappears because noone has any money to spend on their crap.

tis a bit more complicated but that is what it boils down to.

though sometimes, rarely, they have an argument for underpaying. given they'll lay off 1000s of people that aren;t getting paid very well to begin with however when they see trouble, disrupting their lives, i can't really shed a tear.

@N00bPancakes lack of ability to ever move forward is slavery. unfortunately as i'm seeing the slaves like their slavery because they can ensure they can rape over and over if they embrace it

It's "freelancing"...I don't know what a given customer is supposed to do for you to "move forward", isn't that on you?

Unless this is some other kind of "freelancing".

@N00bPancakes I was being more general. We as a society seem frozen in place.

If anyone is responsible for 'moving' it's the freelancer himself. You're your own business, gotta deal with customers and determine who is a good / bad customer.

@N00bPancakes I see a lack of opportunity for freelancers and small companies alike personally

The problem now a days is more or less that organization and monetary issues are completely out of whack..

A freelancer job is always a risk for a company. You don't know what you get and even less what to expect.

Risk assessment high, mitigation: pay as less as possible.

It requires trust to pay more - but paying more would mean it's less profitable, hence the job won't go to the same person twice.

Which means that the quality of the job cannot improve and hence means that even though it costs less, it's never gonna be good.

Does this sound shit? Yes. And it's shit.

Even worse is wasted money. E.g. using payed services like varnish for no good reason at all.

The hidden costs a company has could be spent for at least another dev - in some companies even dozens. (Not joking, I gave consultations where the tech stack was completely nuts).

Managers getting too much money is another problem... Imho their loan should be limited to a max of 5 times of the average loan of the workers.

You know I didn’t used to be so out in the open about this shit hoping it would be over in time and people would grow the fuck up and let the world move on but since that seems to not be happening a big fuck this is in order
