bad-frog5464ybefore asking for a raise find a new, better paying job. shoould be possible, you have 4 years of professionnal experience in addition to what you already had on you resume.
find the new job first so that you start negotiations from an advantageous position. -
ArtOfBBQ3784yYou absolutely have to get over your shyness - asking for a raise is very important. There is also nothing embarrassing or wrong about it. If they do give you a raise it will help you a lot because your next employer will want to top it, so make sure to stay until you've received a full year of the new pay. If they decide not to give you a raise, leave the company for something else.

I’m basically facing the same thing. My company doesn’t want to give anybody a raise since corona hit. Yet I’ve gained a considerable amount of responsibility in the meantime. What frustrates me most is that our company lost tons of money with some horrible projects that really went far down south due to very poor management. Instead of blaming themselves for not being able to give people raises they blame Covid.
I’ve personally planned to let summer vacation go by before I start looking elsewhere while at the same time insisting on getting a raise. -
jeeper58094y@bad-frog 2 decent notes here: DO NOT TELL YOUR current job about any new offer. Never take a counter offer they will just be looking to find some one to do your job for what you were doing it for and replace you. Just know you have an offer and then ask for a raise, if you even want to stay. At all my moves there wasn’t a reasonable amount of money I could have been paid to stay.
Second, If you can’t get an offer quickly, just do the research on the market and ask for a raise anyway. If they refuse then you know to focus more on looking and just leave ASAP. -
bad-frog5464y@jeeper thanks, i suck at words
obviously you dont wanna start asking for a raise the wrong way:)
however if they are really evil they can use your reaction to denying you your raise to maybe give you overtime if they see youre dependent
