What do you think about career choice if one loves JavaScript and it's frameworks but hate HtML CSS

    Electron based stuff?

    Or nodejs, and many other node dependant stuff?

    How do you hate HTML? Hating CSS is normal, but basic styling knowledge is required to make any website.

    Generally, you don't.
    Unless you can find somewhere that you only do backend (NodeJS) kind of work and there's someone dedicated to frontend. But that's doubtful since "you know js" you can do all of it.

    If by "love js and its frameworks" you're talking a out frontend stuff, then you don't - you're never going to get a frontend role by saying you don't want to touch two key pillars of frontend.

    You either suck it up and put up with the bits you don't like, or you look for a pure backend node.js job.

    @NoMad absolutely not Electron.

    @vintprox somebody has seen horrors... 😏

    @vintprox A few years ago, someone once recommended I should look at Electron to replace a Java desktop app (yeah, I know, legacy stuff) that we were maintaining.

    I think I found the only thing *worse* than desktop Java when I poked around with that heap of junk.

    When you say "its frameworks", what are you referring to?
    UI ones like Vue and Angular?
    Or Node.js ones like Fastify, Express, Koa, Sails.js, Hapi, Redwood, ...?

    If it's the latter, then you may find joy in a BE Node.js job, although from what I've seen here, at work and from experience, you may need to do FE stuff as well... Unless you're working with at least one FE Dev.

    It's simple, just use dreamweaver! /s

    Industry doesn’t give a flying fuck about what you like. If you’re a good Dev you’ll work with multiple things. Some you’ll like, some you won’t.

    I feel like you're just gonna be doomed to fix old broken wordpress scripts >_>

    HTML/CSS are necessary and not too horrible to learn. Spend the time learning the basics before contemplating career choices
