Everything is deprecated, everything moves even quicker than it used to. In the 90s a lot of us (kids as well as grownups, where applicable) were still using computers from the 80s. You don't get that so much any more. Even "LTS" sometimes means you can count the years on one hand.

this is why we should be a little more conservative with adding dependencies

Especially one's that we don't really need
