Well, the pen experience is great. If you skip the pen I think it looses a lot of it's value.

kamen69883yJust curious - is it efficient for handwriting? For drawing stuff (if you're typing on a keyboard) - maybe, but if it's just for writing, I honestly don't see the benefit over typing on a good keyboard.

mr-user13523yThis may be off topic but just use an audio recorder, and traditional pen and paper.
You want to listen to lecturer and just write down a few keyword as a note. If you note down everything the lecturer said , you are just a note taking machine.
To have useful note , you
1) Have to process what the lecturer said
2) Make a summarize version.
3) Note it down
It's take a lot of mental effort to do it while taking a class so focus on just listening to your lecturer. You can also listen to your audio recording at any time you want if you think you miss something.
The only advantage of using ipad over traditional method is that you have a digital record of your note. -
I'm butting in, sorry.. What about https://remarkable.com/ ? Anyone has this?? Is it worth to get one?
// I need to write down everything, but feel sorry for the trees.. -
I bought one last week in the Amazon prime sale with a pencil.
Never had one before. It is amazing, it’s very good at recognising my shitty hand writing. But it’s not perfect and when it gets it wrong it’s a pain to correct that word and usually gets it wrong a few more times.
It’s probably down to practice and my shit hand writing, which was never that great and now I type all day.
I’m not taking notes when trying to keep up with a lecture, I was doing it to write a blog.
So if I was you I would use pen and paper and then digitise it with the MS Office app I think. -
sariel85343yI use an old surface 2 pro for work.
Before that I used a Samsung tab 10. It got a bit laggy though so I moved to the S2Pro.
Still runs pretty smooth, if note taking is your only concern. Don't expect to do much else with it though. -
@sladuled I’ve looked at the remarkable tablets too but after looking at the reviews I decided not too. It seemed like people hated the product

Why don't you grab the cheapest tablet and the cheapest static pen?
I don't think it's worth it if it becomes obsolete in a year, and I see no added value in it being an iPad. -
rados393yI use iPad with Concepts app.
It serves only for drawing idotic schematics that my brain cant pick all together. 10/10 -
iPad is great for notes, markup, and other school work in general. Would highly recommend.
