So I am a part of this volunteering initiative where one of our tasks is to assist people in distress (virtually).

Now this activity is led by two chipmunks. One claims to be a therapist who themselves is seeking professional therapy from someone else and the other is a corporate HR.

Well that information should be enough for you to understand how chaotic the situation would be.

But allow me to continue...

So they decide to go about an activity in the group where everyone has to share a meme. Some of the cringest memes I have seen in my life. One of them went to an extent of sharing a husband wife joke as a dark joke.

Next day, someone spammed in the group and one user sent a sticker of some character hanging from a rope. It was evidently a fun and sarcastic sticker which they all use.

But all of a sudden the chipmunks got offended and went on a delete spree warning and banning users.

Most of the time, the group is dead and another group where they plan shit is more active. Full of mindless opinions and worthless conversations.

All they are doing is spamming everyone and forcing people to participate in the name of volunteering.

What's more exciting is, they control it so rigidly that no one, except the two chipmunks, is allowed to even have an opinion or disagree with them. If you do, they'll belittle you in front of everyone.

Yes, you guessed it right, the entire initiative is a massive failure and being dragged in the name of hElPiNg pEoPlE iN dIsTrEsS

Sounds like HR needs an intervention.

At the very least, some therapy.

I love shitty HR, it's so easy to outwit them and turn their games back on them.

With the right idiot in HR you can become anything you want.

@sariel lol I had such an encounter in my previous org.

I never understood why that role even exists.

@Floydimus it's the same reason why you retain a lawyer. For insurance.

HR will be the person who puts their neck on the line to say, "we investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing."

The irony is, HR has been brainwashed into thinking that this is what they're supposed to do. All while the fat pos at the top lines their pockets with your hard spent life.

Always remember, their success isn't in making money or expanding the business. Their success is making you believe that you can only make a difference to them.

    Mini correction:

The fact one of your hr is a therapist and is searching help from another therapist is not a bad sign, quite the opposite.
One of modern psychotherapy’s core points is that the patient CANNOT overcome some issues alone due to their internal voices, to their masks (Jung) etc…

Theoretically you can work ok it by having good people around etc, but if you are a therapist being humble enough to say: “no, I need professional help to solve this thing correctly” is a very good sign!

This ofc does not make them a good hr, just hints that they may be good therapist… the posting the meme / forcing discussions / not accepting others opinions thing is cringe to say the least.

Wouldn’t be surprised if halfway trough their therapy they search for a different job not involving hr… the most pointless job ever

    Mini correction:

    2 chimpmunks

CM 1: Therapist and seeking therapy for themselves while treating others.
While it is a good sign that you are figuring yourself out. How can you go and treat others when you are not in your right mind?

CM 2: HR who is controlling every minute activity for no apparent reason.

Also, none of this is at work but outside where bunch of us have formed a volunteering group.

@Floydimus i'd start responding everything with memes featuring the chipmunks.... But really with everything!

@Floydimus oh, you can do a lot for others while not being able to help yourself.

"Full of mindless opinions and worthless conversations."

If I ever had children I would instill this sentence into them so they would understand the very defintion of what they will encounter as their lives develop.

A zen koan has been borned (sic)!

Cm1: the two things are not necessarily connected, many people tend to create two personas (masks or in a more common term identities) which are separate when working and while living their life… e.g. I used to be high performing at work and to cry a lot at home, to the point I needed a therapist! (This is partially because most jobs require us to temporarily detach from our feelings and yadda yadda yadda… man psychology is great! And scary…. And great!)

    Cm2: yikes! Big red flag

@piratefox I fear how accurate that is.
