Very annoying way to increase user engagement.

The problem is, they have kind of monopoly with nearly zero competition, hence we end up complying, if we are desperate for the info.

I mean.. put your salary as 2 cents? Fuck ‘em!

That sort of forced user engagement always backfires.
In this case it will lead to fake information added to their database. And that in turn will diminish the value of the data for their users.

They are basically already dead - they just can't see it yet.
