My college teaches us perl now😑

Being in a college whose curriculum is 10 years old is fucking sick.

I mean really 10 fuckin years old.. Dude this is computer science field, shit changes so fast here, new languages, new standards, new frameworks and these guys don't give shit about that.

Wasting so much of my time attending these shit classes because i have to maintain 75% attendance in every subject or else i wont be allowed to write an exam.

Try to see it this way: college should teach you the basics and a certain approach to problems. You can't expect them to teach you the hottest trends in the field, that'd mean new courses every year and would result in fast decaying knowledge. You will learn those in production anyway. What a degree gives you is a solid base which you can easily build on, even in 20 years, because math doesn't change and the latest JS framework does.

Teaching the latest languages and frameworks is easily futile while older ones that have proven their worth and are still widely used makes much more sense until the need to specialise is big enough!

@Ajite agreed, but think about other cases. They teach us facts and stats, which are outdated long ago. And the sad part is, the notes given by teacher make it sound like its the present day stats. Atleast once in 5 years the course should be updated and facts updated right?

@VigneshS Haha I feel you bro. I had courses like that, forunately only a few, but it was really frustrating. This is teacher dependent, and the person who does that is not a good teacher imo.
