    Wow, and here I thought I was the only one that views it roughly that way. I'm not fundamentally against the idea, and I mean, yeah, when it works it's nice... it's just that "when it works" is such a small subset, and the complexity involved in actually making it work blows my mind (at least at "enterprise scale" that seems to be the case).

    Can I just run my batch file on your server and call it a "pipeline", please??

    @fzammetti a pipeline is the same as a batch file. But instead of typing it's name, you click a button.

    @nitwhiz Yeah, except there's 100% more praying that the pipeline works, for whatever reason, and it's much more complex to create in my experience. I was joking about batch files of course, I wouldn't do that today for real, but I certainly have in the past and it never failed and was much simpler to put together.
