Any tips on staying motivated to improve one's own programming skills? (Self-taught and lacks guidance)

Money. Escaping from slavery. If that's not motivation enough, then LOL.

Happiness cannot be found in a program.

The only place you can find true happiness is within yourself. No other person can give you that.

People give you purpose, a job gives you fulfillment, a career keeps you motivated.

Your happiness is what you lack to find your motivation.

Work on things that you find interesting, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem.

For me it was people telling me all my life that I’m just “a little nazi (because I’m German) who won’t achieve anything in life”.. now I make a good living and they’re all poor and half of them unemployed..

But since I left that country I don’t have people telling me shite like that anymore and now I’m also struggling to stay motivated.

Find a project or projects you think are fun. There's no better motivator than liking what you do.
