I believe leisure is important for mental health. I think the problem is if you w̶a̶s̶t̶e̶ spend too much on it you are less likely to break free from the cycle of leisure<->work and couldn't leisure as you will without consequences.

I don't want a 2-week break from work every now and then just so that I could "come back refreshed and ready to take on tasks for my employer." The mentality that you should give "work" your best is depressing. I don't think I hate my job, I just want to give the things I care about my best. My hobbies, my friends and family, my interests. At the moment a weekend is just to mentally recover and recharge for next week's work, which is not what it should be for imo.

A holiday is also kinda useless if I have to come back to the original source of stress.

This went on for longer than I'd anticipated.
