I always jealous dev from the US. They do simple html job but get paid higher than me who have to learn as much as most of the other guys in US.

Ummm, no, this isnt a thing at my work place. I have to solve difficult problems and know electro-mechanical things as well. I get paid more before I am cross discipline and solve hard hardware and software problems.

Friendly reminder... The living costs differ on the whole world drastically.

Those who scream for better payment often forget that the higher payment isn't that much higher if it's put in comparison.

E.g. in Germany you can pay for a flat with 40 m2 depending on city 150 Euro up to 1200 Euro (not a typo).

So getting 2000 Euro and having to pay 150 Euro for a flat alone vs 3200 Euro and having to pay 1200 Euro for a flat... The pay rise doesn't give you any benefit.

Kidding aside @IntrusionCM is completely right. It hits not only housing everything is more expensive. Even though we hire from abroad it is hard to find a cultural match and technically skilled. Locals get hired far more easily.
