I just watched a "lead performance test engineer" quit out of vim using Ctrl+Z.

The struggles are real, it seems.

^Z puts the process in background. Did they return to it later?

They did open the file multiple times, it's just that when there are no changes, Ctrl+Z.

When there are changes, :wq

The only thing worse is manually clicking "File > Undo" multiple times

I once taught a highly paid senior Linux administrator about tab completion in the command line.

He never used it again after that.

He also types with two fingers and couldn't watch the screen as he was typing.

Some command I could type out in 3 seconds literally took him a minute.
