Dev: The customers are complaining about our new chatbot. They say that it is very stupid and doesn’t help at all.
We should invest some resources to make it better.
Project Manager: Nah. Just slap a pic of a lady on top of the chat window. That will make the bot appear more human. The customers will love it. Oh and give the bot a name. Something like Jamie maybe. -

@AlmondSauce Or cheap out on real & well trained support employees. I have never seen a support bot which could truly replace knowledgeable humans.
Some in-chat suggestion which shows best matching FAQ article is fine, but beyond that, there should be a human. -
@bittersweet The problem with that is, in my experience at least, a lot of the support humans seem to be just as bad as the bots.

@bittersweet well, the guy worked across from me and looked pretty human, but his support responses did often loom like they were written by a horse.
