I don’t think anyone was nearly as happy as I was to find out Twitch’s source code got leaked and that they use GO.

Makes me glad to see Go used by another big company for a big application like twitch where performance is really important.

Does it really matter which language is used internally by a closed source software?

That has always been Go's thing, I didn't think it needed justification.

@iiii it's not closed source any more

@iiii I mean normally not really but Go isn’t used a whole lot so having twitch as one of its bullet points is great. I can’t think of too many projects made with Go aside from Docker and Kubernetes so it’s just nice to see that another company that isn’t google also supports using Go

@RememberMe I just hope this gets more people to look at Go

@Bubbles or it is used in a closed source software so you have no idea that it is used 🤷‍♂️

@iiii yeah but I feel like when people are looking at languages to use for projects or new languages to learn, it gives them more confidence if they know there have been great and successful products made with that language

But that’s just my view of it

@Bubbles We use it for cross-platform monitoring software and for the automation of Windows updates.
