dR does make me feel smart, tho. Also, the occasional smartness is worth staying here.
-
koes3303yStupid people are everywhere, read The Basic Laws of Human Stupidity, I think you'd like it.
-
Hazarth95373yI will call CSS a programming language when it can do things on it's own, without html and human input. And when it starts behaving consistent across browsers. Until then it's just a cascading style sheet... a tree structure telling the browser how to draw things

"Some people of devRant are astonishingly stupid."
Others are astonishingly arrogant. -
@kiki Life is not a competition of who is the smartest. It is about suffering the least, with happiness for those lucky few in the mix, while rotting away until you drop dead.
You are very competitive, kiki. No need for that, imo.
P.S.: It is no longer called Asperger's. -
I agree with what @fruitfcker @AlmondSauce and @hardCoding said.
It's not a competition. You are unique and smart in your own way.
And I say this because I respect you and think highly of you. I'd expect a more mature response if someone misbehaved with you.
Giving people power over your mood/emotions is basically saying they control you and that takes away your thinking freedom only because someone else does not think as critically as you. -
@Hazarth Was Javascript not a programming language until javascript engines grew separate from the DOM?
-
Hazarth95373y@lbfalvy JavaScript can execute perfectly fine without any html or user input. The fact that you even can separate it from the DOM proves it. Try separating CSS and then make something in it

This is a rant about ranters. We should create a meta rant site (no pun intended with the evil company btw).
-
Crost40753yI didn't write my comment aimed at being rude to you directly, but general commentary on people who think "making it work is all that matters" which is a blight on this profession. However in retrospect it does look like shots fired, so sorry about that.
-
I mean, this is my general problem when dealing with opinions on the internet. Some people can politely disagree with things, others feel the need to come off as obnoxious or arrogant in their comments. I can take disagreement, but not being rude for the sake of being rude and then being happy about it. It is just some very weird miserable vibe.

kiki353533y@fruitfcker @Floydimus yo, thanks y'all for your kind words, no sarcasm.
It's not about opinions tho. Where there are facts, opinions don't matter.
Yes I am competitive, and it is ruining my life. I can't change that. I was competitive since the age of four. It's just who I am, glass cannon pattern. -
@kiki being a competitive glasscannon is fine, but you have to consider your goals and the general nature of the tradeoffs implied. I think this applies to your opinion of testing as well as your approach to UX. You have to consider who is considered a worker or a user before deciding what to demand or provide, respectively.
-
@AleCx04 dear sir,
I have do not intent to comply with your thought process.
Lmao. Polite disagreement?
How have you been bro?! -
@Floydimus you know me baby just chilling and cruising!
Been out for a couple of days dealing with a new department director. Been trying hard to shield this dude, he is nice, but damn does he keep trying to make this place like his old and has been hitting walls. The other managers have not been kind, but you know ya boy, always chill, you? -
@AleCx04 haha good to know man. Glad you living the life :)
Going good so far. Nothing much to rant and rather happy with life.
Exploring some new opportunities so let's see what comes.
Gotta take my second vaccine dose soon :) -
Hey @kiki don't break your jaw sucking your dick too hard, people fighting your ideas is the basis of reason.
Anyway let's not turn this into a philosophy class.

Some people of devRant are astonishingly stupid.
I post a rant of Ryan Dahl where he says he don't like the unnecessary complexity of modern software. It's an obvious UX rant, but @Crost says that it's about rushing releases and writing sloppy code to "tick the item off my list and solve the problem". @Crost and other boubas, if Ryan's vision was more widespread, macOS, the OS you all hate so much, wouldn't have existed because Linux would have the best UX ever.
I post a rant about Google algo being nasty and throwing triggering shit at me. I previously posted stuff like this, Root confirmed that it works just the way I think it works, it's a manipulative piece of crap. But @Oktokolo says that "The algorithm literally just gives you same of the stuff you just saw", well, I don't know, nice view of the problem for a guy with no computer and no smartphone, @Oktokolo! All that "youtube recommendations gathered us together on some obscure video" comments, and you still don't get it.
I post a rant about how I redesigned a fucking color wheel icon. It shows a "before-after" pic and the colors are obviously the same, but fucking @Oktokolo be popping up again, telling me that I have eye condition (!) that makes me see more blues than yellows.
No wonder you guys don't know how to use CSS, the simplest programming language (yes, it's a programming language).
No wonder smart people like SortOfTested just leave.
I still refuse to believe that devRant user base consists of stupid people exclusively. Perhaps they are just average, and I'm the genius with my Aspergers just getting way more information out of my environment like I always do.
