As someone into the cutting edge research in tech, it is my pleasure to inform you that I finally bought a pair of Bluetooth headphones. 😁

Yeah, nah, the irony ain't lost on me.

    As much as I don't like the audio quality bluetooth offers, I can accept the loss over a wire strangling me all day.

    Sadly, when you've worked in the audio world, you appreciate the finer things in life.

    Next you'll discover Wi-Fi and blow your mind 😅

    You'll be discovering blu rays next 😅

    @AlmondSauce @C0D4 Hush you two!
    I'm not rich like you to afford whatever new tech. 😛
  • 2
    @NoMad how rich do you think I am?

    I've got kids remember, those things are expensive 😅
  • 1
    @C0D4 richer than me. Govt stole my last cents when I came back to this godforsaken land. And I've still got loans to pay back. (Small ones, but hey)

    @NoMad our shitty govt are great at taken our money though, bastards take a little to much for my liking though.
  • 1
    @C0D4 time to overthrow this mockery of two party system? Lol, when are we starting the revolution? Oooooh Can we start from the Victorian parliament? Like installing a guillotine in front of it would send a noteworthy message.
  • 1
    @NoMad need to pick the states wisely, otherwise we'll end up with a single party gov, then we'll be screwed to hell and back.

    If we loose vic first, scomo would be thinking it's a favour, I say we start up north a bit.

    @C0D4 hahaha. Fair.

    I meant we go multi party system. Weighted votes and such.

    As with most things in tech, nothing to get excited about unless it makes a difference for you. If you need the portability and don't mind the sound quality loss and the need to worry about one more battery, it's fine.
  • 1
    @NoMad New tech? I'm still stubbornly running my decade old rig until the industry can sort this silicon shortage out 😅
  • 0
    @kamen actually sound quality isn't too bad imo. I didn't buy a highend one, but I've heard good stuff about, for example, Audio Technica. (Mx50x)
    Portability aside, the fact that my phone won't just fly away because the wire got caught somewhere is super nice! Less damage to the phone is worth the extra battery imho.

    @AlmondSauce The silicon shortage seems to only affect GPUs, so things are fine for most other components. Maybe just wait for the mid-life refresh of the Ryzen 5000 series if you're going with AMD.

    I ended up being an audio hipster with wired, custom-fitted IEMs from a tiny polish manufactory and, let me tell you, I ain't going back and I'm not giving up my precious cables. The sound quality for the price is simply impossible to beat.

    Now time to read bluetooth specification and db signal loss 😂

    Isn't bluetooth the bleeding festering edge, or is it just festering?

    @-red ikr! It's so hard to find a good phone with an audio jack these days!
  • 1
    @NoMad moto g. I hated it at first (hate android 10), but its growing on me. I have the stylus version.
  • 1
    Wired is way better anyway. Especially if two way audio is enabled quality goes to the 80s.

    With phones removal of the Jack and cats in the house there are still benefits. Other than that it's highly overrated

    @msdsk what's the make and model?
  • 0
    @msdsk If it's not a secret, what's that brand/factory?
  • 1
    @kamen

    @hjk101

    It's Custom Art, I have unfortunately discontinued FIBAE 2, new models are more expensive, but I would say it's still more than worth it: https://thecustomart.com/

    Bluetooth does require dark rituals and blood sacrifices to keep working though.

    Yesterday I had stuttering audio all day, regardless of what I tried. Then I dripped bat's blood over my computer, ate a living scorpion and reconnected my headset six times, and it worked correctly again.

    @bittersweet I did the darkest deed. I slept with your mom. Now all my bluetooth devices work without issues.
  • 4
    @Demolishun That's quite dark indeed, considering I've been an orphan since age 7.

    @bittersweet Oh fuck, I am going to go become a javascript dev. I have earned this fate... Sorry man.

    @Demolishun

    No, it's all good

    Fucking a corpse... it's a small sacrifice if it means your Sony WH-1000XM4 stops connecting to your laptop in mono voice mode instead of to your phone in stereo music mode.

    I would visit the doctor though, my mom smuggled people across the iron curtain during the cold war and died from cancer, most likely caused by poisoning by the soviets.

    What I'm saying is... you might have a radioactive dick now?
