    JavaScript was made for simple dom manipulations, not fully blown web apps with state management.

    And yet almost 95% of web apps being used all over the world that probably generated billions of dollars in revenue are written in JavaScript.

    @jasongodev that's cool and all until you are working on someone else's JavaScript and you wonder where the four years of software engineering they were engaged in went

    @jasongodev by the retarded people

    JavaScript delivered what Java had promised.

    @EpicofGilgamesh Java suffered from being born in the hype phase of OOP. The "write once, run everywhere" failed because it also included "and it sucks everywhere".

    Java applications looked like shit and ran like shit. If even the dev tools suck (Eclipse anyone?), there's no hope. The early GC "stop the world" problem didn't help, either.

    It also failed with the internet because the Java Security Manager was always full of holes, which put Java applets more or less on a par with ActiveX in terms of security problems.

    It's still used in the backend where it is arguably better than Node, but that wasn't what Java had promised us.

    It's easy to neglect retarded people, but can you make an arbitrary product or service with an entry barrier so low that it's accessible for retarded people?

    If you can — congratulations, you've just solved the fundamental problem of accessibility. Consider writing an essay on your method, then email it to MIT Human-Computer interaction department and get your Nobel Prize.

    @hamido-san JS in 2050 , we've now introduced ==========

    Too many people are trained in JS who don't want to try anything else.

    For the nex 10-15 years JS will be here.

    Honestly, thre is NO REASON to use javascrip[ in 2021 when wasm exists (Blazor beeing example, but I'm sure there are others)
