You'd think that with OLED screens becoming the norm for smartphones people would start offering dark themes in their apps to save a bit of battery and prevent burn-ins, but NOPE there comes Google with their material design and everything is suddenly brighter than the sun, especially YouTube where 3/4th of the screen is static most of the time.

Thank God you can still mod things.

    I've been using OLED smartphones for a long while, only burn ins I've had are the buttons on the bottom of my screen and the bar on the top with my current Nexus 6P. Don't know what I'm doing different

    What do you use YouTube for if 3/4ths of the screen is static?! When I use YouTube I'd say 4/4ths of the screen is pretty much dynamic... Ya know, cause of the movies playing on it...

    Well with a 6" screen I don't always need to put my phone into landscape mode to watch stuff, also things like music videos. 🤔

    @rvnx yeah, I guess you're right. 4/4ths of my screen is about 1/4th of yours... 😒
    I need a cooler phone.

    @rvnx 6 inch screen, I like taking full advantage of my screen so I always watch full screen on YouTube

    I hope Google will join darkside soon, cant stand for that bright colorscheme.(Atleast, I dont watch youtube via web browser and app frequently)(Recommend : mps-youtube) xD
