I really wonder what degree I would've been working towards now if I never got hooked into programming in 2012.

What with your consideration of alternate realities, perhaps you may have been a theoretical physicist wondering what it would be like to program for a living instead.

I started programming when I was 6 but when it was time for college, my parents were like: "you already know how to code, why not study the hot topic of Finance?"

WORST DECISION EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

For my specialization in Computer Human Interaction, I needed to take a few Psychology classes. In my Cognitive Psych class of 120 mostly psych majors, I got like the 3rd highest grade in the class. That is so my second calling.

And in an aside, the lack of females in computer science classes... it was SO the reverse in the psych class. As a 19 year old single male at the time, it was pretty damn refreshing.
