Everything Facebook related is having stories. At this rate other companies gonna have their apps feature stories. Just watch.

It seems that I'm missing some revolution here. What are those stories?

I don't use social media (LinkedIn, devRant excluded) so I have no idea what stories are.

LinkedIn has them too? What's their slogan? "Show your colleagues how much you hate them by creating your own storylines™"

It was a joke, basically how Facebook copied snapchat stories into all of their apps, Facebook, messenger, and whatsapp.

Can someone explain what are those 'stories'?

@tnnn, stories are a combination of videos or pictures, or combination of the two that a user posts. The content of the stories are deleted 24hrs after the user uploaded the content. Stories is one of snapchat's prime feature. Around the time when snapchat announced it would go ipo, Instagram had integrated stories that operated exactly the same as snapchat. Facebook then continued to add it to not just instagram but to messenger, whatsapp, and facebook app as well.
