Good luck! It won't be that hard if you put your mind to it 👌 I once managed to install kali Linux on a nvidia shield. Never rooted a device before either. I believe in you bro!

Just hope the bootloader isn't locked and if it is, then some genius has found a way to unlock it. Good luck

Xda developers website has root guide for almost all generic phones... And also ways to unbrick if you mess up.

@elfico I just had to boot into fastboot mode and run 'fastboot oem unlock' haha
