CSSBattle leaderboards are meaningless. CSS code golf makes no sense whatsoever!

Wow I had no idea this was a thing. I’ll just look it up out of curiosity

@TeachMeCode tell me if you looked in the global leaderboards for some "targets", as they call them. It's not like my time was wasted, I just don't get why someone would strive for it.

@TheCommoner282 yeah, well, but after speedrun, every player achieves kind of unique benchmark. And here it is just plain X amount of characters code golf, and hundreds of players that for whatever reason have typed exactly X.

Speedrun and quick reverse engineering must feel way more rewarding. My opinion is that CSSBattle may have gained some popularity in due course, but it was mostly because of the hype around the idea and simplicity of the deed.

I would just love to spend time doing exercises that don't push unnecessary code golf "challenge" (regrettably making it a main criteria for evaluation, which is plastic nonsense). In fact, while writing this to you guys, I found an interesting alternative:

It's so funny that each time I rant to someone, the better solution is just coming at me.

"CSS Challenges" website treats the shortest code submitted by anyone as "Best Solution". While I diss this approach, what I think makes this arena more bearable is the moderation of solutions!

So, only distinct ones get in the list of "CSS Challenges". This concept is way better than leaderboards on CSSBattle. You see the real code submissions by committed people and perhaps learn something new.
