Counter question : is this company is a pond ?, then are you the big fish or small fish or not a fish at all and just random sheep's asking sheepish questions ?

Interview answer small fish in big pond. You'll get hired as it says you don't have an ego.

"I'm a motherfucking Orka bitch!" Would have been my answer to that question!

@A-0-C holy cow I ss your answer for future preferences

@A-0-C I would never want to work for such a company that wants to bring me down like that!

I would have said what I said in an earlier comment, followed by: "Fuck you very much" .....and walkout of that interview room!

@codeRetard, yeah well if you want the job you might want to go with my answer.

@A-0-C An interview is not an interrogation, it's a dialogue as opposed to a monologue. You are evaluating them just as much as you are being evaluated by them. You also need to have standards and know the value of your sanity. Such a question, when asked with the intent of hearing an answer such as the one you are proposing only goes to show that these people have no aspirations in making the required investment in your future development. In this day and age, with so many thriving open culture software companies that make it a priority to invest in you and in your further development into becoming a "big fish", a swift "fuck you" is the least of what that interviewing panel needs to hear!

@codeRetard, yes Sir. I shall keep it in mind. <Also the people taking the interview may just be idiots not sure you'd evaluate the company based on the idiot>. Just my 2 cents.

@codeRetard, could always say grow into a big fish in a large pond. Serves both our criteria.
  • 0
@rantOverflow you don't want to do that. 😂 Hilarious though but don't.
  • 2
@A-0-C On the contrary, It speaks volumes about a company that employs an idiot in the first place, and then appoints that idiot to be a part of an interviewing board!

@codeRetard I shall just shut up now.

Hmmm I'm a dev in this stupid interview.
  • 1
What about big fish in a big pond, and small fish in a small pond?

@codeRetard yell "freee willyyyy, bitch!" while wagging a boner....

    ok, i'll see myself out

@avedis I would only say that if I was stupid enough to have been working there and wanted to resign in style!

    The correct answer is yes.

Either way, its only a matter of time before the larger fish consumes you -🐟 unless you are the biggest fish.

@codeRetard @A-0-C I've actually heard this question is more about ambition. It's along the lines of "would you rather go to an easy school for the easy A's, or a hard school where you have to stay up all night working just to stay at class average." They want to see if you put yourself into situations that allow for growth, and if you expose yourself to healthy competition that pushes you to get better at what you do.

@Livie firstly welcome to devRant. Secondly will keep this in mind thank you for the information.
  • 2
    @A-0-C Thanks! :)
  • 1
@Livie If that was the case they would have worded it differently not like a mystery wrapped in a riddle inside an enigma!

    P.S - Welcome to devRant.

Say you're a small fish, a fucking piranha. Or a big fish, magikarp.
  • 3
I just love reading the comments in this rant.
might as well answer the question, I'm a small fish in a big pond. After all, I'm actually small and lost and lonely in this big bad world.
  • 4
@avedis No, you're not frog prince!

@yzhea what you said there is like the definition of a negative parity to me! How can that be your reply, and your line of thought, yet you enjoy the interaction and answers in this post!?
  • 3
@codeRetard the last part was a joke good sir. :) i love the discussion coz it's like presenting two sides of a coin.
  • 1
@yzhea Oh right, I should have known even though it did not sound like it. After all women don't ever put themselves down like that and mean it, not anymore that is
  • 3
    @codeRetard yeah? women power! :)
but do women used to really put down themselves? wasn't aware of that.
  • 1
@yzhea correction, women's perception of power and sense of entitlement to self acknowledgment. And yeah, back before the fall of civilization as we know it in the form of butt hurt social justice warriors and over sensitive generation whatever the fuck!
