At the ending part of the interview, I asked a final question to the HR.

Me: "So, what language is mostly used here?"

HR: "Since we're dealing with customers from different countries, English."

That was an interview for incoming fresh graduates. My college mates who heard it bursted out laughing on the way out but I did not cause I'm respectful even though I'm shitty at times.

I really think that this is a sensible response to your question. It also wouldn't have been rude to politely say, "oh, I was actually asking about the main programming languages used on our servers."
