And this scares the shit out of me.... Are we all doing harm in Developing code that seems to ease our work now, but might even kill us later...

There's a series of videos on Computerphile about strong AI that's pretty cool

writing code to make our job easier is called "tooling" not AI. now if you're writing tooling that decides the best course of action on its own and learns you might have a problem but even then I would want a copy of that code where I can modify it for my workload

Meh, if I love long enough to be killed by AI, I'll be honored. And I mean sentient AI, not shitty auto-aim or some shit

@iam13islucky well as developers we probably would be the last to be killed since we would be needed to write other AI so we would be kinda like livestock

@jckimble Tell me, since we know with the help of AI, the program has the ability to re-code itself... All that learning shit... And then it develops a new Programming Language which devs are not able to understand... Then what?

@aayusharyan I never said we would be kept alive as code monkeys forever, but there would be a point where the ai would need us to update itself until it is able to do that. really in that time span somebody might beable to incode failsafes to shut it down little by little.
