It is not uncommon, depends how you install it.
And who the hell does not double check the /dev/sd* before purging? -

I didn't double checked because I had done it before and it was sda -

I DONT KNOW WHY BUT UBUNTU 17.04 SET MY ONLY DISK TO /DEV/SDB, I RAN A DD TO DELETE MY USB DRIVE (I TAUGHT IT WAS /DEV/SDB) AND DELETED ALL MY PARTITIONS! F* THIS SHIT, I'M GOING BACK TO ARCH
