pear9188yI had hopes someone tell me "Surface!" It looks very interesting, it is very light, good quality and convince to note :/ it all is important for student :/

atheist99308yRock, meet hard place.
Linux laptop. Far better value for the money, and if you're on here probably more useful than either.
If you're on a CS course you're likely to be doing dev work and running native Linux has its advantages. -
Surface!!! Delete windows and install Ubuntu so you don't become a corporate slave
-
FTcuber10658yI'd say mac for cs related stuff and surface for regular school stuff. Having the stylus in a note taking app can be really useful. If you don't think you'd use the touch screen a lot, the mac seems a better overall choice.

What are your plans that you plan getting a MacBook. I'm looking also for laptops and the MacBook Air has better specs than the MacBook when I researched it
-
drRoss49148y@madskills No, if you're buying a laptop nowadays, you want 16GB minimum. Especially as you cannot upgrade MacBook or Surface RAM.
-
I been using the same specs Surface Pro 4... And its awesome!
Didnt need anything else! -
mcraz16768yI find Mac better to code on. We'll, mainly because of macOS. Every development tool out there is built on / for this machine. My main motivation to shift to a mac was to leave behind the days of setting up dev environment on Windows, which as you know, is nightmare.
-
I'd go with a KDE slimbook. Similar specs to a Macbook Air but the awesomeness of Linux preinstalled.
That's just me, though -
The surface pro looks underwhelming compared to the macbook.
What's your budget ? There may be other choices out there of a ultra portable. -
pear9188yHi guys i will back here at May 19, I'm really busy now and I want to do good research before buying new computer, but currently I don't have any time
Thanks for help :) -
Witch one you prefer?
