hjk10156953y@tosensei nano has a different use case for me. Especially the lack of an undo feature seriously limits it.
Vim is also an awesome editor and without any customisation my preferred cli editor for quick edits of config files. Nano is my second choice for this.
Emacs is an awesome editor and if you invest time in it you can make it greatly assist in workflows. -
NoMad137293yFellas, I don't have a choice. It is the thing that has been used with this particular system. Not your ordinary emacs. It has other stuff made into it.

The problem with Emacs is that no 2 Emacs instances are the same. You could learn how to use my Emacs. That wouldn't help you learn Bob's Emacs.

@hjk101 "Especially the lack of an undo feature seriously limits it" - easy fix.

hjk10156953y@NoMad now that is torture. No-one should be forced to use a certain editor.
The perform is not Emacs than but this special Emacs dependant solution.
Or are you people heavenly invested in lisp? Than it might make sense
