Which one do you guys prefer? Visual Studio Code, Brackets, Atom, Notepad++ or Sublime?

Tried all except brackets.... VS code is the best

@codeBoy Try Brackets. I really like it as a web developer.

Notepad++ is good but VS Code is just (sighs)

Notepad++ for tetris plugin, vs code for beautiful colors, notepad for minimalism

Brackets used to suck on large projects with many files and folders. I dumped it for Atom.

@haabe I've noticed it lag on startup, when I try to open some very big project. Other than that I've not noticed anything 🤔

@Rahul0596 The last time I used it, it went from syrup to just stalling. I hope they improved file handling since I used it, as I liked it quite well except for the file handling issues.

I've tried all the above...and i like atom the most. Sometimes it lags, sometimes it crashes but I still like it.

For strictly web dev things I use Brackets, but for everything else I feel like sublime is the way.

I don't care as long as it has a command mode to navigate so I don't have to move my wrist to use the arrow keys or mouse.

Basically that means Vim. But Visual Studio with a vim keybindings plugin for a semester-long internship was quite okay as well. It's not about elitist terminal-only stuff, it's just very comfortable to work with a command mode for editing (as opposed to insert mode).

I have tried every one of those and I settled on... Vim.

Long time with notepad++, ultraedit and so
2 years ago moved from visual studio to brackets because vs is crap for non .net.
Then moved to Atom.
Them moved to VS Code last August.
Never moved since.

@console really? I guess it varies from person to person then. Loved Atom but when I tried VScode and noticed that it's significantly faster I never looked back
