I once explained to my fiancee the difference between important and urgent (think Steven Covey's four squares) as follows:

Urgent, but not important: Watching the Mythbusters flip over a bus with a jet engine (live broadcast when it first aired, thus if I miss it it's gone for the forseeable future)

Important, but not urgent: Detailed feedback on her knitting (which could be solicited during a commercial break to no adverse effect)

Suffice to say, the recipient of the message took deliberate action to become both urgent *and* important swiftly thereafter.

Better but not the best. I recommend GFaaS.
