    Only the unemployed solve leetcode.
Because that's about the only time you'll actually need to know half of that.

So the really question is, who here is unemployed as a dev trying to make it into FAANG these days?

I used to do hacker rank for fun. Now I tend to work on bigger personal projects to scratch that itch. I don't bother prepping for software engineer interviews much.

Seems like a waste of time. I just learn or review another language, tech, pattern, etc., or work in hobby projects.

Contributing to open source projects is the best way to learn IMO

For fun or when I’m looking for a new job. I like small puzzles but sadly leetcode is pretty much required to get a software engineering job in most US companies. Like everyone said, you’ll learn a lot more about software engineering doing large side projects since thats actual engineering

When people serve me with leetcode I just leave, I don't have time for this bs and I don't want to work with anyone who thinks that this a great way to find good engineers.

I could speak for hours about idiotic this is but I'm out of mana.

Want good engineers? Have a conversation with them. If you can't recognize smart people through a simple conversation then you're both unpersonable and an idiot.

NEVER. On the contrary I started to avoid companies rely on those kind of questions.
