!rant Went shooting for the first time over the weekend. Was so proud of my grouping that I hung my target on the door to the garage on the side that faces the garage so if anyone breaks into my garage they have to see it before getting into the house. πŸ˜‚

    lol

Make sure there is a glow light so it can be seen in the dark.

    Damm thats some good grouping

    What were you shooting?
  • 6
No shots in the balls? πŸ˜„
  • 6
@Nanos A sufficiently sized crossbow will go through 2 sets of body armor.
  • 1
    That's rather frightening. Holy shit
  • 3
    Nice pattern!

    What were you shooting?
  • 2
real nice grouping! I am curious as well as to what were you shooting!

    @Stuxnet @Root @AleCx04 Sorry, friends, forgot to say. I was shooting a CZ P-09.

@AmyShackles Be careful, that exercising of your 2nd amendment rights could be addictive.
  • 5
@PaperTrail Thankfully, ammo’s expensive, which curtails my addiction somewhat. πŸ˜‚

@AmyShackles Reloading would be a good option if you can find all the parts. I won't promote a particular web site, but if you search for IMI 9mm ammo, if it's stock, they usually have it for 35 to 40 cents a round and usually have a free shipping promo code. Assuming, of course, you live in a state that allows its constituents to purchase ammo over the internet. God bless America.

@PaperTrail I’m a Texan as of last month. Still figuring out local laws, if I’m honest πŸ˜…
  • 4
    @AmyShackles Texas? Yea, you're fine.
  • 2
@PaperTrail UPS has been "losing" ammo shipments. Not sure if Fedex is any better.
  • 1
@PaperTrail prob with reloading is the fuckin primers can be a bitch to find still
  • 1
    @Nanos Not sure.

@Stuxnet Primers, bullets, brass, loading presses, etc are (or used to be?) impossible to find. Gone are the days of picking up a few boxes of shotgun ammo ~$2 a box and a cheap+fun afternoon with the guys blowing up clay birds
  • 2
@PaperTrail the last hope is fuckin around with .22s

Whats fucked up is the price of ammo was high bc demand was high and supply was low. Supply is high, demand has dropped but the price still hasnt cuz the economy is fucked. Like we should be at the point where 9mm is like $10 a box again and .22 should be $2 for a box of 50.

@black-kite not true at all. Plenty of other countries havent stripped their citizens of the right to self defense and allow fun.
  • -1
@Stuxnet only 16 out of 195 countries, and only three of those sixteen have it as a constitutional right.
I’d take a close look at crime rates in those three countries. (USA, Mexico and Guatemala).
Self defense, ok sure. Overall security of citizens, not so sure.

@Stuxnet I genuinely dont give a shit btw
  • 5
@black-kite Actually, getting firearms for self defense in Mexico is possible, but damn near impossible. The crime rates from weapons over there do have more to do with it being a country basically ran by the cartels. Not because their people go in and purchase weapons at a store. Matter of fact, years of living in one of their largest cities (Monterrey) I can't for the life of me recall ever seeing a weapon store. I asked a cousin of mine after reading this if he has ever seen one and he said no. Here in Texas I don't have to drive far away to find one.

@AleCx04 > "Here in Texas I don't have to drive far away to find one"

    Missouri too.

I'd rather have my gun and not need it instead of needing it and not have it.
  • 2
@PaperTrail I say exactly the same thing
  • 4
@AleCx04 The thing I don’t think I’ll ever understand is how the people who think all cops are bastards and want to defund the police seem to also be the people who think that regular people shouldn’t be able to legally own guns. Like, what, so you don’t trust the police/government to protect you, but you also don’t want to be able to protect yourself — do you just think bad things only happen to bad people?
  • 3
@AmyShackles exactly, it makes no sense and I continuously never understand the whole defund the police notion, or that of hating the cops.

I might be biased, 2 of my closest friends are cops. And I interact regularly with police officers in one way or another, heck, even where I live there are chotas(Mexican slang for cop) all of the place. Nicest motherfuckers around and always willing to help the community.

Police hate is a stupid thing that is generalizing as if they were all bad. Let alone wanting(as you said) to be disharmed and without cops, who the fuck are they going to call then?
  • 2
@AleCx04 They want people afraid. People who are afraid can be controlled by suggestion (news casts). One suggestion that gets thrown around a lot is banning guns. They repeat horseshit arguments over and over and the afraid people start to believe this. This dynamic is changing however. A lot of the traditional news sources are getting very little viewership.

@Demolishun > "One suggestion that gets thrown around a lot is banning guns"

That would require a repeal of the 2nd Amendment, which could never happen, right? :)
  • 2
@PaperTrail They already made it very difficult to own a machine gun and other military weapons. Which the whole point of 2A was to be able to defend yourself against your own government. So they ban classifications. Inch by inch.
  • 1
While I get the spirit of the 2nd amendment, it seems like most gun purchases in the US nowadays are made for purposes of self defense against other wackos with guns rather than defending the people against a tyrannical government.
  • 3
@black-kite a lot of us look at the Sec Amendment as "two birds with one stone"

We can have regulated militias, to defend against a tyrannical government, and we can also keep the right to bear (purchase, own, control) firearms.

I do agree with what you said. I told a friend of mine that hates firearms that the day I live in a pacifist utopia in which I can trust my fellow men fully and securely, that I would melt my weapons. But I don't trust my fellow men, I don't do so here in the States, sure as fucking shit didn't do it in Mexico, or Japan, Korea, South America etc etc. Heck not even in Canada.

Humans are dangerous and scary, and even as a trained fighter, I'd rather not risk it and just shoot a mfker.

But yes, what you said holds true, I have mine against wackos.
