    I think people need to stop rehashing the same table and create a 2022 edition of it.

    @C0D4 wait the table wasn’t a new thing?

    @johnmelodyme that table is about 5 years old.

    Paper it comes from: https://greenlab.di.uminho.pt/wp-co...

    @C0D4 damn…. That’s old.

    @johnmelodyme down side to internet echo chambers, once someone with a decent enough of followers posts something, everyone else starts. Regardless of how outdated the information is.

    @C0D4 I genuinely don’t even know this is super outdated, this article recommended to me in medium . 😂😂😂😂

    Isn't it quite obvious even if it's outdated?

    Programming languages that make for slow programs also keep your CPU busy for longer, prevent it from going to idle, which means more energy is used? Who would have thought?

    Take the differences between C, C++, and Rust with a grain of salt. They're in the same ballpark, and these small differences are subject to compiler improvements.

    But ofc JS and Python are way slower. That's why Python leverages C libraries for heavy tasks such as number crunching with NumPy, and that's certainly something to keep in mind when developing in such a language.
