TL;DR Asus is a scumbag company when it comes to software.

I love Asus, they make awesome hardware but man do they blow ass when it comes to software and their customer support. They had perfectly working Link To MyAsus app (on Windows and Android) but no no no, we have to release updates and break this shit. Now I cannot use my phone as a webcam.

Fuck this shit.

    screw software provided by hardware manufacturers. it always sucks - at best.

    for using your phone as webcam, use droidcam. works like a charm.

    @tosensei @thebiochemic

    Softwares like these make do for the time being, but they have added subscriptions to their products which I already fucking hate. They have a free version though which is only 640 X 480 resolution.

    IVCam has a watermark problem which I dont want cuz I make youtube videos.

    At least MyAsus provided HD webcam functionality for free.

    to be fair, this is a rather obscure way to record though. It is more intended for having meetings, discord etc. Saying that however, OBS has a Droidcam integration, of which the Pro version costs like 5 bucks on the android store.

    why not get a webcam, or get a used camera for that?

    why not record screen and you separately and then sync it afterwards?
    There is no need to get these types of softwares in your usecase whatsoever.

    I can see why you would do it this way, phone cameras usually look better than webcams.
