I am also a windows 7 user(attack rate: -95%) but I was not attacked why? Because I am not fool like other dumbass windows user(for example- those who ask programmer to install windows ).I got a infected file through email but ignored it.

@dontbeevil disabling Windows Update on 10 isn't a thing anymore. You can only set your "active hours" so it doesn't update while you're working -- and "active hours" can only be an 8-hour time span.

@dontbeevil they extended it? As much as I like that, I don't know whether to feel like throwing a party or punching them in the face.

Maybe a party where we all punch them in the face?

@dontbeevil But that's in hindsight. Have you had Windows 10 force all of your software to close in the middle of working, before "Active Hours" was introduced?

@dontbeevil And when I say that, I'm also saying that "Active Hours" was a breath of fresh air compared to having your computer forcibly shutdown for updates.

One of those earlier updates also put my laptop into a perpetual state of rebooting, and the most recent Creator Update made me have to reinstall sound driver (it was gone) and put some of my default programs and color profile settings back in order.

So I hope you'll understand my frustration with Windows Update, even if a more recent one did fix what WannaCry would've otherwise exploited.

The only people I've seen run into it aren't really smart to begin with.
