It's been 6y since i created a devrant account, and went from a college kid to a dev lead, so much changed and i use my old posts as a window to the young me.

I am working my dream job, yet it feels like a nightmare.
The young me would give an arm and a leg for this position, and here i am feeling like this is worthless.

If any of you guys experienced something like this, would love to hear what it took to go back to feeling excited to code.

Every time that I hear this from a dev, it turns out that this dev is in the web/js stack.

So here is my sincere advice:
If you really hate what you are doing but you actually want to love it again, change your stack. Try something different.

I’ve switched many times. I wanted to love web but I couldn’t. I started to hate it.
Finally I switched again and found a perfect stack for me which I love.

@joewilliams007 I did before writing my comment. It wasn’t a surprise for me.

@Lensflare My first impulse to your post, is shouting out 'how naive! It's about more than just the choice of stack!'... But then i realize, I am on the web stack as well. And then i close mouth.
