Interesting question.. I'm self taught programmer and i never care about terms and theory, I just know how to make code to work and get my job done. I'm waiting for the experienced folks here to answer.

Not knowing basic terminology may hinder communication with other developers. It may also make searching for information less efficient and it may make it harder to understand information once you do find it.

If you work alone it's not an issue but, as mentioned above, it makes it harder to explain to others

@Grundeir so even if i know what i do and can explain it simply but i cant name the terminology can hinder things? I should really try to remember things now. 😅

@RodrigoF You always program in a team. That is, unless you don't use StackOverflow?

It also makes it harder to read the literature, if you are struggling to understand what they mean.

@Biggy me too! I a cs student but i have a hard time remembering the terms but i do know how to do it . Its quite a hassle.

The terms and their use case will be easier to recall with time. If you're having issues remembering some bits try to keep docs where you can, honestly good docs and doodles go far and can even help you explain when you're not sure about the terms.

Is it okay if i dont know a programming terms but i know how to do it? Like they want me to explain what i've done and what i use when i done it. Example ( i use java predefine clases bla bla bla....). I dont really know or maybe i just cant remember the terms.
