The moment...
...you work on a script for over an hour via ssh, want to shutdown your notebook and do 'shutdown -h 0' on the remote machine...

    Save it periodically?

    Maybe use a different layout/colour scheme to differentiate between computers.

    What's wrong with the normal shutdown button?

    @gedankennebel umm move your pointer far away or just type a quick command?. Well, when working on the console I choose the second one

    @gedankennebel
    What would you choose?
    1) Leave the keyboard, grab the mouse, minimize terminal, and make two clicks
    2)
    Stay where you are and
    sudo shutdown -h 0

    I pretty much always choose 2
